This is a helpful hack that you can use on your stuff. I have an Excel spreadsheet which I can also use for this purpose. For each drawer I have items on it. Here are some example items.
If you are like me, you have a messy desk. I have so many papers, books, files, pens, pencils, etc. that are taking over my desk! I have tried to organize my desk, but I just can never keep up. I have tried everything! I have folders, I have bins, I have everything under the sun. I have even tried to get rid of some of my essential files that I have collected, but I am just not sure what I have messed up that I have to throw away. I have tried to organize shelves in my room, but they are still a mess.
It is amazing how much stuff we accumulate over the years. There are so many items we know we need, but once we buy them, we never use them. The same thing happens with the kitchen and bathroom drawers. It is so easy to keep them organized, but once we stop, we never put them back. The only thing we need to remember to do is to put everything back in the same place.
When your family’s schedules get hectic with many activities, good luck keeping things looking neat and tidy, right? In a matter of seconds, our home can go from beautiful farmhouse to “Did a tornado just pass through here?”-chic.
Or how about receiving word that your friends or relatives would be arriving soon, prompting you to rush about putting items into drawers to clear your countertops. Those deep bathroom drawers often get me in trouble. When the news comes out, everything on the bathroom counter is stuffed into the drawers, and the bathroom counter is cleaned.
After loosing the majority of my hair ties, I decided enough was enough and it was time to reorganize those cluttered bathroom cabinets. I was also expecting to locate some of my misplaced hair ties so I wouldn’t have to buy another set.
I knew I needed to get my drawers (and my life) organized, so I went to my favorite dollar shop to find a solution.

Step 1: Prepare to Purge
Empty each drawer fully and sift through the contents to form a keep pile and a throw-away pile. Throw it away if you don’t use it on a daily basis and can’t recall the last time you used it. Throw it away if it has a yellow tinge to it. Throw it away if it has rust on it. Throw it away if you can’t locate the second half to form a pair. If it’s not working, guess what? Toss it out. The one exception is if you believe it will be OK to give it to a thrift shop.

Step 2: Clear Out The Empty Area
After everything has been emptied, it is the ideal time to clean those drawers thoroughly. Because of all the balled strands of hair that accumulate in bathroom drawers, they are the most difficult to clean.
Pick up all the loose hairs and anything else that has made its way into the drawer using the vacuum cleaner hose. After that, go back through the drawers with a wet paper towel to remove anything that the vacuum cleaner couldn’t pick up. Believe me when I say that you will be surprised at how much you wipe up.
Step 3: Group Like Items
You’ll be tempted to start putting things back in the drawer after it’s been cleaned and wiped clean. However, before you consider returning those things, sort everything you put in the keep pile.
Sort your belongings into groups based on their similarity. For example, one pile might include all hair items, while another could contain your skincare regimen. Make as many heaps as you need, and consider things through to maximize your organizing efforts.
Step 4: Determine the Layout
After you’ve sorted your piles, it’s time to plan out how you’ll use your Dollar Tree Essential drawer organizers. This is why it’s a good idea to measure your drawers before you go shopping so you can be sure you’re buying the right items. Bathroom drawers are available in a wide range of forms and sizes.
Arrange your containers in the drawers in the order that you think is best for you. Consider what you use the most, what you use the least, and the form and size of each item. You want the final agreement to suit your needs.
Step 5: Replace your belongings!
Now that you’ve organized your containers, it’s time to put everything back in the drawers.
I chose to place the things we want quick access to – those products we use often — in our top drawer.
I thought that the middle drawer, which is a bit deeper, would be ideal for my hair tools and hair care items. I spent some time thinking out how to organize my hair tools so that they would simply lay flat.
Finally, since my husband doesn’t need to use his beard-shaving and head-shaving equipment on a regular basis, I utilized the bottom drawer for his beard-shaving and head-shaving equipment.
Final Thoughts on Organization
Essentially, these methods may be used to organize any drawer in your home, from the bathroom to the trash drawer in the kitchen. I’m also pleased to report that after rearranging our bathroom cabinets, I discovered enough of hair ties to last me for a long!
Drawer organizers are available in a range of sizes at the Dollar Tree. As a result, depending on the style you desire and the size of the drawer you’re arranging, you have a variety of choices.
I like the Essential brand drawer organizers since they are made of strong rubber that prevents things from rolling and sliding around. Good luck with your planning!
